HealthBound Program information campaign materials
Province of British Columbia’s Public Service Agency
The HealthBound program was designed and developed to bring awareness of available health and wellness programs to BC government employees. Deliverables included the program logo and sub-branding design, information handouts and guidebook, posters and postcards to increase awareness of specific themes or programs, health and wellness posters, recipe cards, fact sheets, and more.
Mothers Without Status guide for service providers
YWCA
This project included the design, layout, photography selection, and infographics for a 40-page two-colour booklet. This guide was created to be an easy-to-use source for service providers who are working with mothers and their children who are facing hardship and duress as they wait for immigration and family issues to be resolved.
New West Skatepark program branding and materials
City of New Westminster
Working with Ideaspace, a program identity was designed for the planning, design, and relocation of a skatepark in the City of New Westminster. Program materials were designed for a variety of audiences, including the general community as well as skaters who currently use the existing skatepark.
Province of BC’s employee quit smoking program poster design
Quittin’ Time
As part of an information package for provincial employees to educate about the health and wellness programs available to them, the Quittin’ Time posters were designed to appeal to a variety of demographic types. These posters highlighted some of the dangers of smoking as well as the benefits of quitting smoking.
Regina Wastewater Treatment Plant posters and handouts
EPCOR
Working with EPCOR, who reached substantial completion of the Regina Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrades in December 2016, a series of illustrations were designed and developed to help describe each of the main processes at the wastewater treatment plant, including an overall process diagram showing the entire wastewater treatment process at the plant. Work included a series of handouts as well as posters that are displayed within the treatment plant.
Regional Exercise Program Guide and Executive Summary design and infographics
Integrated Partnership for Regional Emergency Management in Metro Vancouver (IPREM)
Working with IPREM, the Regional Exercise Program was designed support and provide momentum for an ongoing culture of preparedness and contribute to a disaster-resilient region for metro Vancouver. This guide, along with accompanying Executive Summary and related graphics for use in presentations, provides an illustrative framework for the program to guide and encourage local governments to plan and participate in themed exercises.
New St. Paul’s Hospital and Health Campus public engagement program
Vancouver Coastal Health and Providence Health Care
The vision and planning for the New St. Paul’s Hospital was introduced to key sectors of the population, seeking feedback from the public and key stakeholders as the redevelopment project began implementation. Handouts, storyboards, and reports summarizing the feedback were created, including various infographics and map work.
Shared Use and Bike Route project brochures
City of Edmonton
As part of the City of Edmonton’s program to encourage people of all ages to try new ways to get around in their communities and in the city, new shared use, bike lanes, and paths were installed. A series of brochures were created to introduce some of the new movement patterns and routes, and included detailed maps to help bike and vehicle users learn how to navigate the routes.
Wastewater Solids Management Review public engagement program
City of Kelowna and City of Vernon
To meet the demands of a growing population, the cities of Kelowna and Vernon evaluated options for the long-term economic, social, and environmental management of wastewater solids. As part of this project, I designed a fact sheet and display panels, including infographics that helped explain the project and options to the public.
South Shaganappi Study community information campaign
City of Calgary
Various pieces were designed and created for this engagement campaign to seek feedback from the community about the transportation study’s short- and long-term recommended plans. This included advertisements, postcards, signage, handouts, feedback forms, map work and other infographics, and a detailed set of display panels, most of which were produced on a tight deadline.
Logo design and corporate collateral
Treliving Management Services
In 2017, Treliving Management Services was created as the family office for Jim Treliving, Chairman and Owner of Boston Pizza International and star on CBC’s Dragons’ Den. This project included logo design and corporate collateral for this umbrella company for Jim Treliving’s investment portfolio of private companies.
Food, Fitness, and Families pilot program design and layout
BC Children’s Hospital, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority
This pilot program was developed to enable even inexperienced leaders to be able to organize, plan, and lead a community group for families of school-age children, with a focus on nutrition, fitness, and mindfulness in aboriginal communities. Work included design and layout for an 86-page leader guide as well as a 34-page participant activity booklet.
Youth Trades Program infographic handouts
ITA
These one- and two-page handouts summarize some of the key information about the recently-updated ITA Youth Train in Trades and Youth Work in Trades Programs. This included creating infographics to give a snapshot of the results for the year, provide an at-a-glance overview of the youth programs, and give information to educators, students and their families, and industry stakeholders.
Logo design, rebranding, and various corporate collateral
Tumour Foundation of BC
As part of the rebranding for the Tumour Foundation of BC, this project included a new logo design, developing the corporate identity guidelines, an information brochure, and various event and social media materials.
Eco domain marketing materials
Big Room
Working with the registry for .eco domain, I produced a variety of branded marketing materials for the initial rollout and introduction for the new top-level domain. Materials included business cards, postcards, information sheet, brochure, roll-up banner display, and sticker.
Capilano Water Main Project public information materials
Metro Vancouver
This major construction project entailed replacing aging water mains and valve chambers through several North Vancouver communities. Because of the major construction work involved over a number of years, a multi-layered community outreach kept businesses, residents and stakeholders informed about the project and impacts on traffic patterns and access. Work included fact sheets, animated presentation slides, brochures, display panels, and associated infographics including maps and diagrams to help illustrate the construction process, timeline, and impacts to the community.
Communities Evaluation Reports document layout and infographic design
Healthy Families BC
Working for the Provincial Health Services Authority, two reports were produced (a full evaluation report as well as a summary). Without veering from their established brand guidelines for the typography, colour palette, and layout, project branding was designed to help identify specific sections of the report and to carry through a consistent colour theme to identify the categories in the infographics.
Why Things Hurt book design, editing and layout
Brent Stevenson
Working with the author, I performed proofreading, editing, photo selection, diagrams, design and layout services for this 240-page full-colour book, published in November 2016.
Community Recreation Complex redevelopment project public engagement campaign
City of Port Coquitlam
As the City of Port Coquitlam began planning to replace the aging recreation facilities and library in their downtown with a new recreation complex, an in-depth outreach program invited the community to give feedback and share ideas of their vision for the new facilities and adjacent multi-use spaces. Design and layout of a variety of materials, including program branding, signage, online ads, display panels, and information handouts were developed to engage the community. A 64-page Engagement Campaign Report was designed for the City and stakeholders which outlined the community and online campaign efforts and results.
BPFI Annual Charity Golf Event branding and event materials
Boston Pizza Foundation
Each year, Boston Pizza holds their Boston Pizza Foundation Invitational, a high profile charity event. The work for this project includes the branding (including logo design) as well as design and layout for signage, posters, silent auction guide, player information cards, and more. In addition, I also provide the printing, binding, and production for many of the materials for this annual event.
Site C Inquiry Executive Summary to the Final Report design and layout
BC Utilities Commission (BCUC)
This project included the design and layout for a 20-page Executive Summary as a companion to the Site C Inquiry Full Report, as presented to the Government of British Columbia to determine the financial impact of continuing, suspending, or terminating BC Hydro’s Site C dam project. Working under tight deadlines, the work included creating several infographics to help give a clear summary of the inquiry results, as well as a press release handout that highlighted the key findings.
